You've lived your life
By Christy Boutte
You’ve lived your life. You’ve made some good friends & some so-so friends, had healthy relationships and not so healthy relationships, had fun times and absolutely not so fun times. What now? There’s so much more on your bucket list, so much more you want to do but…
Slam on the breaks. What? How? Why? You’ve just received devastating news you never imagined would be given to you—maybe someone else, but not you. The adrenaline starts pumping. Emotions are running wild. What happened to your peace?
In yourself, are you enough to pull yourself out of this? Is the person or thing you’ve placed all your hope in enough to get you through this?
Proverbs 16:25 says “There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but its end is the way of death.” However, God’s Word also says there is a way that is right and a hope that surpasses our understanding. His name is Jesus.
In John 14:6, Jesus says, “…I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
Philippians 4:7 says believers in Jesus can have “…the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus…”
What now? Will you choose to ask Jesus into your heart today, to surrender to His will for your life and not rely on your own will? Call upon Jesus and He will answer you. It is that simple. He is waiting for you to invite Him in.
