Trick or Treat

An answer to your prayers from Jesus, or Satan himself?

We seek God for answers, as we press in, and rely on Him in faith. Then out of the blue, an answer to our prayer appears—exactly what we prayed for, or maybe even better! We are quick to say, “Thank you Jesus!” We go on to begin enjoying ‘our answer to our prayer.’ As time goes by, that very answer to our prayer begins to cause us pain. WAIT! How did this happen? Then we blame God, and stop trusting Him. All of a sudden, He becomes responsible for a decision that was never made by Him.

Let’s reevaluate. When the answer ‘appeared’ to our prayers,’ did we go to God and ask Him if this was the answer before we proceeded? Or did we assume, because it appeared to be what we asked for, that it was Him answering us? See, we must bring everything back to God and test it. We must find out if it is a trick or a treat!

Loaded Baked ‘Potato’ Soup using Cauliflower

• 3lbs Cauliflower, Frozen

• 1c Green Onions

• 1 tbsp butter

• 1 16oz Chicken Broth, Low Sodium

• 1 bag, 7oz Reduced-Fat Mexican Style Cheese

• 1 tbsp Purely Cajun Seasoning

• 1 tsp Real Salt

• 5 Slices Applegate Turkey Bacon

In a deep pot, high-heat, boil cauliflower until tender and place in strainer to drain well and set aside. In the same pot, medium heat, add butter and green onions. Cook down for about 5 to 7 minutes. Add cauliflower back into the pot, add Purely Cajun and salt, stir well. Add chicken broth, returning to a boil.

Add cheese, turn off heat.

Pour soup mixture into a blender and puree.  (I used a Vita-Mix)

Cook bacon either in oven, microwave or stove top til desired texture.

Serve soup with 1 slice of bacon per serving, chopped. Enjoy!
