The DAV is a leading nonprofit organization that provides to veterans of all generations a lifetime of support—at no cost to them. We assist veterans in positive, life-changing ways by helping them access the benefits they’ve earned and connecting them to meaningful employment opportunities.
The DAV is one million members strong. Our organization helps veterans with their claims against injuries while in the military. We provide transportation from the local clinic in Lafayette, to the Super Clinic in Alexandria for specialized care unavailable here. We have representatives who lobby Congress for improved benefits for veterans.
Working with the DAV Chapter is an auxiliary composed of women and men who assist the Chapter in serving and helping veterans and their families.
Chapter 2 meets the first Tuesday of each month. For more information or questions, call Commander John Mercer at (337) 344-8933 or Adjutant Marinus Manning at (337) 739-2312.
With over 1,300 chapters, DAV provides a national network of local support for veterans and their families. The DAV commemorates its 100th year of service to veterans in 2020.
