Christ's authority over our issues

By Julie Esta’

Scripture says nothing happens without God’s permission, and all things work for the good of those that love Him. Although God doesn’t enjoy seeing His children struggle, He knows it’s necessary for us to grow.

To achieve growth, we should first begin with self-examination, looking at our issue through spiritual lenses. The Word of God says, “we battle not against flesh and blood but spirits and rulers of darkness…” We must ask, “Is this an issue with me or someone projecting this on me?”

Next we evaluate what the root of the issue is. This exposes greater levels other than our external realities. These root spirits could be fear, control, anger, insecurity, depression, anxiety, shame, guilt, self-hate, sexual perversion, lies, etc. Once we are aware of what we’re dealing with, we must go to the Lord in prayer. (ie.”I break the spirit of anger off of my life and my children’s lives in the Name of Jesus. Amen.”)

Through Christ, we have the authority to break the power this has over our lives and the repercussions it carries with it. As we put this into practice, it will not only free us and transform our lives, but our children’s lives, down to many generations! Just as we want strong, successful children, so does Christ.

And just as with our kids, God can’t do all the work for us, we have to do our part, with His guidance. I encourage you to take some time today and examine any struggles you’re having and their spiritual root, go to God in prayer and begin walking in the freedom that is rightfully yours in Christ.
