Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be he propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. (1 John 4:7-12)
Hate is as powerful as love, but will produce deadly consequences such as lies, murder, strife, and jealousy…and the list goes on. Hating someone because of the color of their skin, mental or physical handicap, or just because they’re not a part of your social or political circle is grievous to God. Jesus laid down his life for us all to make us one with Him.
1 Corinthians 13 says, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.”
Let’s return to love and heal!
