Super Taters & More
Walk into Super Taters & More, and you’ll not only be impressed with the delicious options, but you’ll find the personal touch and commitment to the community of owner Jerry Bobb just as refreshing. The bookend of a shopping center on Cameron Street in Scott is where Jerry set up shop nearly five years ago, and has been growing and evolving his menu and his staff ever since—but most importantly his relationships with his customers.
On the menu you’ll find huge, loaded potatoes in large variety (some even tailored to customer suggestions!), salads, sandwiches, wraps and homemade soups too. Ask Jerry “why potatoes?” and he’ll tell you that was pure opportunity, but that opportunity has led to avenues and opened doors for what’s most fun and rewarding for him—reaching people and helping give back to make a valuable difference. Ask why he hasn’t opened more locations, and he’ll tell you because he can’t personally be at every one to touch and interact with those who come in—again, that personal relationship is what he seeks with both loyal and new patrons.
With a strong team that has been with him for years, Jerry seeks to build independence and attention to detail in each team member, and to bring out the strong will and determination you can’t always see and measure in people, until you give them the opportunity to shine on their own. Their desire to serve consistently great food is also used to find ways to serve the community, both in and out of the store.
From contests on social media centered around Jerry’s longtime love of the New Orleans Saints; to food, school supply and toy drives; to Jerry running breast cancer and other nonprofit races and walks—his heart is focused on being accountable and present with what is entrusted to him through the success of his business.
“I believe in giving my time and actually being there, versus just writing a check,” Jerry emphasized. Through his actions, he hopes to inspire other businesses and plant the seed in someone else to give back, build those relationships, and have a lot of fun doing it.
