With Lisa Hellier, teacher, advisor, trainer
Lisa has worked in women’s ministry for 20 years as a trainer, advisor, and Bible teacher at retreats, conferences, and in her own church. Her goal is to serve women through teaching and training so they might cultivate a love for God’s Church, God’s Word, and God’s people. To fulfill these goals, Lisa serves as a ministry partner with ConexusLA, where she co-leads teams to reach women throughout Latin America with reformed theology teaching and resources.
Lisa is also privileged to serve the PCA through her work with MNA Disaster Response where the Gospel goes out to disaster-impacted areas. And when not serving in a women’s ministry context, Lisa is the senior executive director of talent, culture, and leadership development at two Chick-fil-A restaurants. She is married to Jim, and a mom to four sons and two dogs.
St. Augustine wrote, “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.” Our restless world is a reflection of our restless hearts and the result is a deep soul weariness. But God is the Lord of order, creativity, and rest, and He calls His people to glorify Him in the reflection of those traits.
“In the beginning” is not just how the Bible begins, but it is the opening to our understanding of God’s purpose for us, His people. In creation as God established order, commanded creativity, and promised rest, His people were given an expansive canvas upon which to demonstrate creative expression with delight and worship. Apart from God’s intervention in Christ, we are a people left in restless weariness.
At Renew, we will explore God’s gifts of order, creativity, and rest from the beginning; see the distortions of our fallen world; and anticipate how God has provided renewal for us in Christ!
