Freedom through Christ after addiction
In 2017, there were over 72,000 drug overdose deaths, nearly 200 per day, in the U.S. While cure rates for addiction are 5%-30% for secular programs, scientific studies show a 67%-86% success rate for Christian 12-month programs. In 2013, Tim Cormier, a former pastor and drug addict, started a Facebook page called methaddictshelp, little knowing that God would bless the effort and grow the page to over 137,000 followers.
In July 2014, Tim founded Recovery Ministries, a Christian,501(c)(3) non-profit ministry focused on deliverance from bondage to addiction. The ministry has been blessed with strong advisory board members, including Bill Richard, founder of Acadiana Addiction Center, and current CEO of Solutions Recovery Center and New Beginnings Lake Charles, and Buster Dupuis, founder of A Place of Restoration, a Christian treatment program.
In June 2017, the ministry purchased a former hospital in Rayne, Louisiana, a 45,000 sq. ft. facility on four acres, which is currently being renovated as a free,Christian, residential retreat center for men coming out of addiction, renamed Hope Recovery Center (HRC). The facility has 40 bedrooms, with a capacity of 80 people. HRC will operate a voluntary 12-month,biblical, 12-step discipleship program. The program will include work programs and vocational training, through partnerships with local businesses and vocational training schools. Solutions Recovery will partner with the ministry, leasing space in HRC and offering a 12-week Intensive Outpatient (IOP) program funded by Medicaid and insurance. We are currently installing sprinkler and fire alarm systems at HRC, which will be followed by air conditioning, electrical and mechanical upgrades, with expected commencement of Phase I residential/IOP operations in July 2019.
Future phases will include office space for lease to medical providers, and sober living arrangements. We are praying for financial supporters in our community to help us bring hope to the hopeless, through the power of Christ. Please be in prayer for us.
