Three and done

By Keith Boutte

1 Kings 11:4-6 (NLT) says, “In Solomon’s old age, they (Solomon’s wives) turned his heart to worship other gods instead of being completely faithful to the LORD his God, as his father, David, had been. Solomon worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech, the detestable god of the Ammonites. In this way, Solomon did what was evil in the Lord ’s sight; he refused to follow the Lord completely, as his father, David, had done.”

The passages above, in my eyes, reflects America today. This Nation under God has lost what seems to be a large portion of its children to other gods. Selfish desire and feelings seem to be more important than self-control and truth. We are seeing many gods being raised high in the name of what we want, and there seems to be an all-or-nothing stance being taken in the name of desire.

Look at two of the gods Solomon worshipped after being told not to worship other gods, by God who so richly blessed him. He worshipped the god Ashtoreth, who was worshipped for its sensuality and involved ritual prostitution. The priests and priestesses of Asherah also practiced divination and fortune-telling.

In America today, marriage is being redefined as “two people who feel love for each other.” God said a man will leave his mother and father and be joined to his wife and the two become one. This is the only natural relationship created by God, as well as the only natural way to procreate. Today the old adage “if it feels good do it” is ruling today’s society. Children are being taught to choose their own gender over their natural God-given gender. Feelings are more important than natural design and order, any desire or craving is in vogue. Many in America are serving Ashtoreth.

In addition to sexual rituals, the worship of Molech included child sacrifice or “passing children through the fire.” It is believed that idols of Moloch were giant metal statues of a man with a bull’s head. Each image had a hole in the abdomen and possibly outstretched forearms that made a kind-of ramp to the hole. A fire was lit in or around the statue. Babies were placed in the statue’s arms or in the hole. When a couple sacrificed their firstborn, they believed that Molech would ensure financial prosperity for the family and future children.

Today the American government has funded the greatest genocide in the history of mankind. Over fifty million babies have been murder for the sake of choice. Planned Parenthood, with funding from the government, is a killing machine who’s services are 95% abortions and 5% healthcare. It’s interesting that Moloch had a whole with fire in its belly to consume children with fire. Moloch is alive and consuming America’s children daily in the name of choice and so-called freedom.

One generation after David, Solomon living in all of Gods blessings turned from the one true God to serve many false gods. Solomon also killed his brother to secure his thrown. One generation after Solomon, the nation God gave David was divided and separated into two kingdoms.

Above we see how Solomon allowed sin into his heart and the into the kingdom God gave him. Israel turned from God and one generation later Israel was divided into two nations.

America has committed the same sins as Solomon by removing God from the highest place in its heart, soul and mind, we are a nation divided. Is there hope for America? YES!

Hebrews 13:5-6 (KJV) says, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

This is our time Saints, we were chosen for such a time as this! God put us here for this time to boldly proclaim His truth and desire for all people! We, the People of God, must spread His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control to all lost people.

The Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:19 “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”

Live for Jesus wherever you are, and People will follow you to Him.
