HIGHWAY OF HONOR VETERAN’S MEMORIAL RIDE
By James McCartney
On Saturday, July 17, 2021, east meets west, and north meets south, as American Patriots from all walks of life will come together for the first annual “HIGHWAY OF HONOR VETERAN’S MEMORIAL RIDE.”
Proudly promoted by FREEDOM’S THUNDER, the mission of this first annual event is to bring AMERICA together again in UNITY and FELLOWSHIP, as we create a convoy of patriotism to give HONOR and show RESPECT for the SERVICE and SACRFICE of all our Military Veterans—and their families: ARMY, MARINES, NAVY, AIRFORCE & COAST GUARD.
Likewise it is to show the same degree of HONOR and RESPECT for the SERVICE and SACRIFICE of all our First Responders and their families: LAW ENFORCEMENT, FIRE & EMS.
UNITY and FELLOWSHIP…two of the key components that despite the adversities all around, can still unite us as AMERICANS with one purpose—in one accord—as ONE NATION UNDER GOD!
This special event will kick-off Saturday morning at Cowboy Harley Davidson in Beaumont Texas and proceed eastward with a stop in Lake Charles before progressing on to Cajun Harley Davidson in Scott Louisiana. The total distance for this special ride event will be approximately 134-miles with full law enforcement agency (LEA) escort. Further, as the thunderous rumble of hundreds of Patriot bikers lead the convoy, they’ll be trailed by a multitude of Patriots in hot-rods, antique cars/trucks, jeeps, 4x4s, minivans, 18-wheelers…and any/all other Patriots who join in at each rendezvous point.
Yet a big part of this ride will be the convoy of Patriots diverting from Interstate-10 to complete a “Parade of Honor” along the pathways at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings Louisiana [Exit 65]. There at the Veteran’s Home is where Patriots participating in this event will see firsthand a multitude of legendary Military “heroes”, many of whom AMERICA may seemed to have forgotten—or perhaps never known.
Veterans who served with valor during WWII, Korea, Vietnam…each with a story to tell, all with a legacy that should never be forgotten. It’s true that we don’t know them ALL, but we certainly owe them ALL!
The ride event will conclude at Cajun Harley Davidson in Scott where there’ll be plenty of FOOD, FUN, DOOR PRIZES and FELLOWSHIP! Many other activities are also slated to bring HONOR and RESPECT to our Military Veterans and First Responders, including an Honor Guard “posting of the colors” and recognition of ALL Veterans by branch of service.
One of our own local Veteran families, LEGACY I, will be set-up with their mobile command kitchen (MCK) including a full staff of volunteers cooking and SERVING THOSE WHO SERVE FOR US! All the while live entertainment will be provided through power-packed old-school praise and worship by the Christian band “Subject 2 Change” (S2C) from Jasper Texas. A special treat for this event will be S2C debuting their newest cover song, although not released yet, “FREEDOM’S THUNDER.” Trust us folks, you’ve never heard praise and worship like this before.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 17, 2021…THUNDER IS COMING!!!
