The implosion of self-government

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” (Thomas Jefferson, U.S. Declaration of Independence) Any nation under the guidance of God whose people govern themselves according to God’s Word will always find themselves prosperous beyond measure.
Endowed by the Creator
With the understanding that “self-evident” is the truth that the “created” is endowed by the “Creator” and knowing that God’s “equality” plan is for all mankind to live by His instruction, not reliant upon human ability but Holy Spirit guidance, we must conclude that in this life, peace and prosperity of the born-again spirit are more important than any physical possessions.
Life, LIBERTY and the pursuit of happiness come from people governing themselves according to the Creator’s design as instructed by the Creator’s words. God is the beginning of knowledge and accepting His guidance is the key to life. Wisdom and knowledge of and from God are critical to understand life. After all, should the “created” tell the “Creator” how life should be lived?
Christianity at the foundation
The founding fathers as well as most of America understood what was most important for a successful government. At the Constitutional Convention in June 28, 1787, Benjamin Franklin stated, “I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, it is probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured in the Sacred Writings, that ‘except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it.’ I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel…”
There is no doubt any mention of church or religion in the founding of this nation is referring to Christianity. Any case to prove this truth to be false is like the blind leading the blind.
“How comes it that Sunday, the Christian Sabbath, is recognized by all the departments of Government? In the law, Sunday is a ‘dies non;’ it cannot be used for the service of legal process, the return of writs, or other judicial purposes. The executive departments, the public establishments, are all closed on Sundays; …neither House of Congress sits.” (U.S. Senate, January 19, 1853, on Congressional Chaplains.)
Throughout America’s history Christianity is known to be the religion referred to in all documents concerning its government. Only in recent times has this been refuted and done so through lies and deceit. Look at what Noah Webster who wrote America’s first dictionary had to say, “…it is the sincere desire of the writer that our citizens should early understand that the genuine source of correct republican principles is the Bible, particularly the New Testament or the Christian religion.” (Noah Webster, History of the United States, 1832, public school textbook.)
Thomas Jefferson was quoted saying, “Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God?” (Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia,1781.)
So where did separation of church and state come from? Thomas Jefferson wrote this, “I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should ‘make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,’ thus building a wall of separation between church and State…” on January 1, 1802, (11 years after the First Amendment was ratified). This was in a private letter to the Danbury Baptist Association to assure them that the federal government could not and would not try to establish a national “Christian” denomination being no other religion was ever considered.
Jefferson was an ambassador in France during the time of the Constitutional Convention. However, while President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson was also made president of the Washington DC public school system in which he placed the Bible and the Isaac Watt’s hymnal as the two primary reading texts. Jefferson’s phrase about “separation of church and state” was used only twice by the U.S. Supreme Court from 1802 to 1947; and it was not until 1947 (Everson case) that it was taken out of context and given a meaning never intended by the writer.
The United States of America was founded upon and its constitution based upon Christianity. Recent history has twisted and misrepresented that fact by those who refuse to accept truth. This nation would not and cannot exist without the divine intervention of God Almighty. Today we need God’s intervention again.
The implosion of self-government
The United States of America has experienced God’s blessings throughout its history yet recently turned to self-reliant governing and away from the direction of God’s Word. When this happens, a nation finds itself arrogantly pursuing self-indulgent happiness, “if it feels good do it.” And this is the case in the United States of America today.
Some of the people of America have turned from the guidance of the Holy Scriptures and the leading of God’s Holy Spirit to self-reliance. We the people of the United States of America have proven to be lacking in moral judgement, physical restraint, monetary responsibility, raising children in the way they should go and loving God more than ourselves. America has become a nation as Romans 1:22-23 (NLT) describes as, “Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.”
But this I know; God’s Word is still going to be proven true and His design and direction will always prevail. Galatians 6:7 (NLT) says, “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.”
Some of America’s people have turned from God and mock Him daily, we have only ourselves to blame. You see, there is only one human race and God created it. In God’s eyes the color of our skin or the geographical area we come from does not separate mankind into different races. Mankind is one race, the human race.
Reuniting with our Creator
Our Creator is the key to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Only from the Bible will we find the origin of mankind, the true heart of mankind and clear direction for mankind. Christians are called to know the Word of God and obey it.
To separate God from government we must destroy truth. Separation of God and state is denying the Creator of His rightful place in its people’s heart. This type of denial causes self-evident truth to be false and justice for all to fail.
As Christian, we know God said this, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV)
America has survived many wars and challenges but none so great as trying to remove God from our government. Christians must stand and unite over this basic truth, Jesus saves and is the same today, tomorrow and eternally.
If you have not met Jesus personally I encourage you to seek Him out. Ephesians 1:7 (NLT) tells us that, “He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.”
Also, in 1 John 1:9-10 (NLT) it says, “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.” And God in His grace says in Romans 10:13 (NLT), “For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” Call on God today and allow His Word, the Bible, to enlighten you on how to serve Him and our nation.
Christians, we have one hope, one future and one God who holds our future in His hands. Let us humble ourselves and seek first His Kingdom and use our lives to fulfill Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT), “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Godspeed fellow Christians.
Let’s remember: the government of the United States of America is designed to operate and rely on the sacred Scriptures in the Bible. The Constitution cannot exist without God’s direction, as it is based upon His word, “The Christian Bible.”
