Cheddar The “Wild” Cheese’s title was introduced by God to me in the early morning hours of July 2019. I woke up and wrote this title down and went back to sleep. The next morning I remembered that I had written something down. When I read this title, I remember thinking, “Now the Lord has a sense of humor.” What do You want me to do with this?
So, I started googling “cheese” and nothing interested me about it. The burden of Cheddar was so strong that I couldn’t shake it. I sat down and put the pen to paper. It was as if God was just telling me what to write. Understand that I am not an author. I have never written a book before, and I laughed when I finished.
I just had to read it to someone so I read it to my husband, children and grandchildren. My daughter said, “Mama I will never look at cheese the same again.” So funny. But low and behold, that inspired me to continue on with the path that I was on, because I wanted children to be able to look at this story and never forget that God is their superhero. I want them to talk and think about the Lord at the kitchen table when eating cheese or a sandwich.
Cheddar can become their friend. With the Lord willing, this will be a series about different issues that kids go through. Being lost, loneliness, bullying, and lying. This first book was published through Covenant Books, South Carolina, and my illustrator, Charlotte Austin has done a phenomenal job with the illustrations.
