Call for unity in the Body of Christ

In Lafayette, November 4th

By Pastor Howard Varnado

On Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Wesley Student Center on University Avenue in Lafayette, there will be a prayer event bringing pastors from Hispanic, Korean, African American and white communities in Lafayette together.

Joining this event are the following pastors from the community: Pastor Lee from the Korean Church of Lafayette will represent the Asian community; Pastor Robert Johnson from the Louisiana Avenue Methodist Church representing the African American community; Pastor Sidney Morales from the Alpha and Omega Church on South College Road representing the Hispanic community; and myself, from the Lafayette Revival Centre and Bible Community Church, representing the white community.

We are calling for intercessors and prayer warriors to come to this premier event. The main theme of the event will be unity in the Body of Christ, and when Jesus looks down on this city, He sees one church made up of every nation under Heaven, of those who have received Jesus as their Savior and Lord. We desire to build β€œThe House of the Lord” in this area. Please come with a prayerful heart to see the Body of Christ united across all ethnic, racial and sectarian barriers.

Join us, November 4th at 10 a.m. at the Wesley Student Center, located across from the main office building of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

You stated in the Covenant Spotlight that you wrote a paper” on the subject of Martin Luther King, and how he and Billy Graham collaborated to end segregation in the South”‘. Please send me a copy–I will pay postage.
